What is a group?

A group is a place where a community of members can freely exchange around a theme chosen by the group creator(s). The exchanges, which can be text, photos, or videos, take place via: 

• Posts on an activity wall.
• Comments and likes on these posts.
• Instant discussions (chat) as well as a calendar and event creation.

The group administrator can define, using access and privacy filters, the type of members who can join the group and post (profile type, age, verified, etc.).

The purpose of a group is to allow members of the same community group to interact with each other. If the purpose is only to disseminate information, the feature sought would rather be the page.

After finding a group you want to join, you have two options: 

• The group is public and you can join it directly.
