On the platform, you have the ability to finely manage who can mention you, and in what contexts.
- Where can I adjust my mention preferences?
From your settings, under Privacy > Who can mention me?, you can:
- Choose who is allowed to mention you: your followers, your following, your contacts, or a combination of these groups.
- Decide whether you want to be mentioned only in content where you’ve already been active (like or comment).
- Can I mention other members?
You can mention other members in different contexts, depending on their privacy settings:
- If a member has liked or commented on the same post as you, you are free to mention them in that thread.
- If their privacy settings allow it, you may also mention them even if they are not part of your contacts or followers.
- In a new post, you can include one or more mentions, following the same rules. The mentioned member(s) will be notified if their preferences allow it.
To mention someone, simply type @ followed by their username in a post or comment. A list of suggestions will automatically appear.
- Will I be notified if someone mentions me?
When a member mentions you in a post or comment, you receive a notification in your Notifications section.
This notification allows you to access the content where you were mentioned directly, even if you weren’t previously active on it.
It helps facilitate targeted interactions and increases the visibility of content that concerns you.
